Bright & Smart Enrichment Class/Camp Guidelines
To make our learning environment fun and safe for everyone, we agree to:
- Be Responsible:
- I will follow Bright & Smart guidelines and take care of my belongings.
- I will do my best to complete my tasks and learn new things.
- Show Respect:
- I will listen carefully to my instructors and counselors.
- I will speak kindly and honestly to everyone.
- I will respect the tools and materials we use in class.
- Be a Good Learner:
- I will pay attention and participate in activities.
- I will try my best and ask questions when I need help.
- Be a Team Player:
- I will work together with my team and help others.
- I will cheer on my classmates and celebrate their successes.
- I will play fairly and be a good sport during games.
- Manage Myself:
- I will try to stay calm and focused.
- I will take breaks when needed.
- I will ask my counselors or instructors for help if I’m having trouble.
Addressing Concerns and Supporting Positive Behavior:
We understand that sometimes, children may struggle to follow our guidelines. When this happens, we will work with them to understand the issue and help them get back on track.
- First Reminder: If a child has difficulty following a guideline, a counselor or instructor will provide a gentle reminder and discuss how to make better choices.
- Second Reminder: If the behavior continues, we will have a more detailed conversation with the child to explore the underlying reasons and develop an improvement plan. We may also inform their parent/guardian.
- Third Reminder: If the behavior persists, we will involve the parent/guardian in a meeting to collaboratively create a plan to support the child’s success. This may involve a temporary break from certain activities or discussing whether the program is the best fit for the child.
